Limoges Enamel Jewelry
Of all the artistic techniques I’ve worked in over the years, enameling is the least understood by the public. Many think of enamels as paint, resins or even nail polish. Only the enamel artist considers it as “painting with fire”.
A variety of enameling techniques has evolved over the years and I’ve tried many of them. But I prefer my own stylized form of Limoges which involves painting with enamel. This seems most natural to an artist whose background is in watercolor, pastels, acrylics and mural painting. Sometimes my jewelry simply involves form and color. In other pieces I create original wearable art jewelry.
Imagine the thrill as a hot, glowing piece is removed from the kiln and the fabulous color reveals itself as it cools!
