Handmade Silver & Stone Jewelry

My name is Nina Gibson. I am a silversmith and jewelry maker. My independent studio is at home where I fabricate each piece of jewelry by hand. I love working with metal. Nothing is better in this work than taking a hammer to metal and watching the metal twist and change. I use decorative and lettering stamps to embellish and texture silver, copper, brass and gold, adding gemstones and glass. I live in Southern California with my husband and two boys. I have a B.A. in theater arts from Loyola Marymount University where I also studied jewelry design. I continue to attend workshops and classes, learning new techniques and I am always tinkering at my bench. I have always been a crafter and enjoy working with my hands. I knit, sew, cook, and doodle etc.

A note about materials: I buy fair trade and reclaimed raw materials from companies who are environmentally conscientious. I recycle my own scrap and materials wherever possible, and on the occasion that I use chemicals, they are the most environmentally safe available. Smoke Free environment.
