Biography
Handmade Project Bags
A friend gifted me a beautiful bag to keep my knitting in. I loved it and started looking for more bags for all my different projects. When I could not find what I wanted, I made it my mission to create bags that are expertly crafted, use high-quality fabrics, in modern, current designs.
I create bags for my customers that are expertly sewn, looking at every detail, to make sure all the edges are finished beautifully. I only choose high quality, long-lasting fabrics that can be used for years to come. As a graphic designer, I also wanted my bags to have a strong sense of design that are on trend and stylish. These bags will keep your projects nicely organized, and the drawstring prevents your projects or gifts from falling out.
I have been sewing since I was a little girl. My mother is a sewist and I grew up around lots of sewing and serging machines. I have been sewing clothes, curtains, and whatever else I needed all my life. I am also an artist who works in graphic design, collage, felt and pretty much every fiber there is.
Trained as a graphic designer and photographer at the Rhode Island School of Design, I worked closely with Dale Chihuly for nine years designing his art books. Chihuly’s love of color inspired me to seek color in all things. After having my third child, I left Chihuly and started Indigo Crane as a nuno felt textiles business. Now that my children are older, I have returned to my roots of sewing and needle arts and blended them with my design sensibilities and love of color.
