Wool Dryer Balls: Handmade and Eco-Friendly
I’m the one who makes your dryer balls! I’m not sure if you told me 20 years ago that I’d be doing this for a living that I’d believe you, or even understand what you were talking about! But life is great and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. 🙂
What’s a Dryer Ball??? — That’s pretty much the first question I get when either someone asks what I do for a living or they ask what I’m going to use all this yarn for.
It can be a bit tiring to explain to each and every person within a mile who hears the word, “dryer ball” but it reminds me that I’m making something that will still be new to somebody for many, many years to come.
I’ve had many jobs over the years from retail and customer service to bill auditing and corporate office monkey but I’ve always been creating things my whole life. From painting when I was six to working with mixed media during high school to sculpting and metal working in college I’ve always kept my hands busy. Throughout all of these horrid jobs I was always on the search for the “perfect job” where I could be at home and just make things all day – and look’e here! After many, many, many years of hard work, sleepless nights and a lot of blood, sweat and tears (many, MANY tears) everything has come true. 🙂 I’ve got a loving husband who supports me in every way and two lovely little kitties that brighten my spirits. It makes all the work that I have done all that much more rewarding.
