Announcement    Thank you for taking the time to visit my Etsy shop.
Here you will find unique handcrafted ceramic art, there is something for everyone. Each piece in this shop was made by me and has a story, except the honey, bees make the honey hives. Most of my sculptures have a description written that includes its story. Those are the stories I share with you when I am asked what inspired me.

Look for two of my sculptures in the 500 Figures in Clay volume 2.

See my sculpture featured on the cover of American Art Collector 2012 http://www.alcovebooks.net/submit.html

My ceramic sculptures are created with earthenware clay using ancient hand building techniques. Combining slabs, coil, and pinch methods I create the unique sculptured items you see in my shop. Most of my surfaces are highly textured and are enhanced by the various glazes and metal oxides I like to use. Each piece is fired at least once to 1971 degrees (cone 04) or as many as 5 times to achieve unique finishes. Using the clay as my canvas I sometimes use post fired finishes like acrylic paint, colored pencils, gold finishes, and wax encaustic.

Over 20 years ago my journey with clay began. I was expanding my collection of Bonsai trees and decided i wanted some artfully unique pots to put them in. One way to get what I wanted was to make then myself. Easier said than done.
